We went to the garden for its May opening, and Milan re-examined two subjects which particularly interest him there.
One is the grove of silver birches growing around the mysterious tufa obelisk on the side of Artle Beck up in the wild part of the garden.
The other, particular to this time of year, is the area immediately to the right of the entrance, where black tulips and white narcissus are interspersed with other spring flowers under the flowering cherry tree.
